What is Split Billing?

This option allows you to pass on the costs of using your home charging station to your employer or your own company.

The billing of charging costs (split-billing) is an important aspect of electric driving. Many electric vehicles are fleet or lease cars, and the usage costs need to be invoiced to the company or your own firm.

Stroohm’s connected charging stations are equipped with an energy meter for billing the electricity.

As a result, the costs of charging transactions can be separated from household energy consumption costs and invoiced to the employer. To activate the split-billing service, you need to register your intelligent charging station. The cost for ‘split-billing’ is 6 euros per month, excluding VAT for a private charging station, and 8 euros ex-VAT if the charging point needs to be set as semi-public.

Of course, your energy bill increases due to charging your electric vehicle. If your employer contributes to the costs, the Stroohm charging station records your consumption costs. Stroohm then invoices the transactions to your employer, and you are reimbursed automatically on a monthly basis.

The first time this can take 4 to 6 weeks, and afterward, it becomes a monthly process. Your employer pays the bill, and you get reimbursed for the previous month.

To configure the split billing function and carry out both the invoicing on one end and the reimbursement on the other end, we need the following:

  • Company bank account number (if you choose direct debit)
  • Your private bank account number (for reimbursements)

Please note that these must be two different bank account numbers.
