Should I register my charging station with my network operator?

In June 2021, the VREG (Flemish Regulator for the Electricity and Gas Market) introduced a new reporting requirement for electric vehicle charging points.
All charging points connected to the low-voltage grid with a charging capacity ≥ 5 kVA must be registered with Fluvius. This obligation applies to both publicly accessible and privately owned charging points. The information they receive in this way will allow targeted adjustments to be made to the electricity distribution network.

Register your charging station via this link.

To register your charging station correctly on the Fluvius website, you need some information:

EAN code of your existing electricity connection
Name of your installer
Installation location details
Technical specifications of the installation

Registering your charging station is straightforward. Clear questions make it easy to complete the form correctly.

For other network operators, you will need to provide similar information as with Fluvius.

This requirement is also or will become mandatory in other regions in the near future. Since there are different network operators across the country, it is important to know which one you are connected to so that you can register your charging station with the right party.

Here are the various network operators by region:

Brussels-Capital Region: Sibelga
Wallonia (75% coverage): ORES
Province of Liège: Resa

There are also AIEG, AIESH, and REW, which are network operators in other Walloon municipalities. In this case, it’s best to contact your distribution network operator directly to discuss the necessary steps.
