The charging speed indicates how many kilometers of driving range a battery is recharged per hour.
The charging speed depends on:
- The maximum charging capacity (in kW).
- The energy consumption of the electric vehicle (in kWh/100km).
How is the charging speed calculated?
(Charging capacity in kW × 90% efficiency) / Consumption in kWh per 100 km
Example:
(2.3 kW x 90%) / 15 kWh per 100 km = 14 km/hour or 7.25 hours per 100 km (7.4 kW x 90%) / 15 kWh per 100 km = 44 km/hour or 2.25 hours per 100 km
